There and Back Again: Tumalo Falls Trail

My first trip to this area was after an April Lacrosse game in Sisters. I found the trail head by accident and just trying to get into National Forest. I pitched the tent and we set to making a massive fire and began to cook dinner which was an all encompassing dinner of hot dogs and mac and cheese. We then awoke and rebuilt the massive fire bigger than it was the night before. This was a massive mistake due to the people who traveled past the camp that day. Well we then began up the trail which had many interesting views of the Tumalo falls area. It totaled about 8 miles round trip to where we decided to turn around. Overall it was great short hike especially if you are close to Mount Bachelor. The fire was a mistake because the pit was so hot someone who went past called 911 and I received a warning from the Forest Service for it. 4/25-4/26/2013

Likability 6.5/10 It is a good day hike if your are in the Bend area, but not worth a drive from the Valley on its own.

The second go round was a 5 AM wake up call to make sure I got to Eastern Oregon with enough time to screw around in the Tumalo area. This was a fun trip as I ended up bush whacking up along the creek for about half a mile. I believe my favorite thing to do while in the outdoors is to bush whack with friends. Sometime July 2013.
